Sundarban – Day 1:
Welcome to the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, the largest mangrove forest and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985, later designated as a Biosphere Reserve in 1989. The tour starts from Kolkata at 8:30 AM. Upon arrival at Godkhali Jetty, you’ll be transferred to the boat. The journey continues through the rivers Gomor and Durgadhwani to reach River Pitchkhali, where our resort, overlooking the Sundarban Tiger Reserve, is located.
A hot lunch will be served upon arrival at the resort. In the afternoon, you will visit Bird’s Island and Sunset Point before returning to the resort.
Evening tea and snacks will be provided, followed by a traditional Adivasi Jhumur dance performed by the local tribal community.
Dinner will be served at 9:00 PM.
Sundarban – Day 2:
After breakfast, meet at the jetty ghat by 8:30 AM for a thrilling cruise to the Sajnekhali Watchtower and Mangrove Interpretation Centre. Continue your deep jungle safari through creeks and rivers such as Sarakkhali, Sudhanyakhali, Bonbibi Bharani, Sunderkhali, and Pirkhali. Along the way, you may spot wildlife like deer, water monitor lizards, monkeys, wild boars, crocodiles, and possibly the Royal Bengal Tiger. Lunch will be served on the boat or at the resort.
In the evening, take a stroll through the native village of Jamespur, where you’ll learn about local crafts, cuisine, and village life.
Join us for tea and snacks followed by a Baul folk music performance in the evening. Dinner will be served at 9:00 PM.
Sundarban – Day 3:
Begin your day early with bird watching and tea. After breakfast, depart for Netidhopani, a site deep within the Sundarban Tiger Reserve. It is home to a 300-year-old temple dedicated to Bon Bibi, the Forest Goddess, where local fishermen and honey collectors pray for safety from the tigers and crocodiles. Lunch will be served onboard as you cruise back to the resort.
The evening is free for individual activities.
Sundarban – Day 4:
After a 7:00 AM wake-up call, enjoy breakfast at 8:30 AM. Check out of the resort and proceed to Gosaba to visit the historic Hamilton Bungalow and the Rabindranath Tagore Bungalow.
After an early packed lunch, you will be transferred back to Kolkata.
